Two more schools have been upgraded to secondary level in Kasama district in Northern Province.
This is in an effort to improve access to secondary education in the area.
The newly upgraded schools are Chafwa and Soft Katongo primary schools.
Northern Province Education Officer, Jobbicks Kalumba says it is government’s desire to see that access to secondary education in Northern Province is improved.
Dr Kalumba said government is implementing various policy measures such as effective and efficient utilization of resources to enhance the provision of education to learners in the region.
And headman Soft Katongo commended government for upgrading the school to secondary level.
Headman Katongo said the upgrading of the school will enable more children access education in the village.
